MySQL config to speed up Indexu?

Hi,

I'm setting up a directory with over 1,5 mill inks in it. I've done a test on my shared host and it's REALLY slow. Like 10-20 seconds every time I search for something. (I've tried Indexu7 with no difference)

So, me and my host's question is:

What is the MySQL config recomendations for optimizing Indexu to run fast with ALOT of links in the database? Any tips? I've think that the problem is that it is the queries that is the problem and that it's no limitations on the ammount of queries. I've been told that I need to tune the MySQL to fit the script better.

And, how many server ram's is recomended to tune it to the perfect optimization?

If you don't mind, please give me to try your data. I tested indexu 7 with 2 million rows / listings. It loaded in a second or less. I use quite c2d 2.4ghz cpu with 2gb ram. But it also depend on the traffic you have.

I got the same. Just need to tweak the database to run faster. Any tips on what settings i can use? I got a VPS-server so I have access to my server settings
