OOOPS! I mean indexutemplates.com templates not updated for script - had to have paypal request refund
after all the problems, i decided to sign up again (another year) with indexutemplates.com (the official template site for indexu) to see if the templates are compatible with the scripts. mind you, it cost me $69 approx and as you know with all the non-help that i have been seeing in the forums i was extremely reluctant to do so, but i did it anyways.
comes to find out that when i went to the octo theme template, it was the same template going on almost 2 years ago with no updates to coincide with the updates from the actual search script. MAJOR RED FLAG!!!!!
so in essence, the themes have not been updated and that's the reason some people are having major problems with the script such as fatal errors dealing with the smarty files.
maybe i'm wrong, but from what i'm seeing, that's not the case.
so i went ahead AND paid for it. can you believe that the template files were the same template files that i had from 2009 when i had the 1-year membership in the past??
immediately i was upset and since i had used paypal to make the transaction, immediately contacted paypal and explained to them the problem in advance so that they knew prior, and then i contacted not only the vendor nicecoder, but also another company which i prefer not to mention because the guy by the name of bruce who used to be a part of nicecoder is a really cool dude who went up and out of his way to help people. simply put he was an amazing guy, and yes, he is missed and the forums and the application since his departure has been dramatically affected. it's so evident, but it's sad. for when ppl had problems they could go straight to this guy named bruce (do a search in the forums on him).
so as a means to protect his business, because i don't want to document his outside companies name in this post because if anything and if i do recall, he was a person who bought into the company a number of years ago and i guess because of various unknown issues, i guess hes no longer dealing with indexu or something like that. otherwise if he was, i would notice that he would be in the forums. so i don't want to mention his name so that its not google indexed, but i sent an email to him bc his company was the recipient of my money transaction and if i was to get any resolve pertaining to help with the templates or even better a refund, it was going to have to happen from him.
however, long story short, i requested help or a refund.
today, i got a refund charged right back to my account which was only fair.
indeed this is troubling because their is no documentation as to the version of the templates, nobody to help the people out on indexu, nothing. simply said, their is absolutely no documentation whatsoever for almost anything.
but at least i got my money back, and that's a damn good thing, but it was only fair.
i'm doing a lot of research here to get an overall picture of what is going on with this company because if anything, im trying to figure out what is going on in here and with this company.
by the way, the email i sent a number of days ago directly to support has still been unanswered. bet you money if their is a reply its going to be something like "we didn't get your email", like many of the other support posts that go unanswered.
sorry about all the bad news my friends, but i have not seen nothing positive come out of the forums, only posts of confusion, and frustration.
im just trying to get a feel for what is really going so that i have a clear idea as to the status of this company that has abandoned you, us for that matter.
i know that my post are truthful and are of a big concern to not only myself, but also to others as they should be, with a fairness.
that Official indexu template club | indexutemplates.com website, and possibly all the file in there are absolutely or if anything, they are unknown as to the version and their compatibility with whatever version of indexu deluxe that you are using, so BEWARE using them unless you know for a fact what version will work for you, or you will face major errors with your script.
if i find any more stuff i will post it.
