Admin showing zero pending links despite user submissions

When users add a links I dont see them in admin section. After submitting the link the user gets this message "Thank you! We will send you an email once your submission has been validated." and also receives an email about that.

Adding links through admin panel works fine, maybe it is because the admin panel link add has more fields such as password, where as users dont see that.

Please let me know what might be the issue. I'm running ver 2.2
