You can build content faster, rather than awaiting someone else submitting their website to your directory. Please read my blog post about dmoz plugin too. It has the same purpose, but different data source.

Thank you for that Dodo. Works great but is only expanding the first of the top level categories eg Arts and not the others. It needs to expand all categories and sub cats so they can be populated also.
    Thanks in advance

I haven't tried it yet, but I would agree with Pete. If it only populates the top level category, thats no good for me either. Only paid premium / sponsored are allowed to have top level listings on any of my directories. Everyone else has to have a sub cat.

    Default screenclip to show you

Firstly Dody sorry about the spelling of your name in that last post.
I've attached a screen clip of how the Google extractor looks. It shows what I mean about none of the others top level categories expanding.
Is anyone having a look at this?
    Cheers

    This is not google directory.

Indexu will search like what we do when searching with google. Enter the query, like 'banana', then it will show the result. Indexu will grap the result and import it in any indexu category you have selected. It will import to any level of category.

    Smile I realise that

    Dody,
If you look at the screen pic I am unable to select any other categories but the ones in the pic. I have used it to populate the first top level category and subcategories but I cannot access any of the other subcategories. That is my problem.
    Cheers Pete
It woirks fine but I just can't use it to populate all sub categories.

    Smile sort of?

If you have a look at the pic it shows the first top level category expanded ( arts) and not the others. i.e. business, computers and dating are not expanded but have many categories contained under those categories. It only expands the first top level category and will not allow me to expand any of the others to allow harvested sites to be placed in individual sub categories. Hope that makes it a bit clearer.
    Cheers

    Pete...

Did you try clicking on the " + " sign next to the other top level categories??? It might be a stupid question, but I have to ask

    Valid question. lol
I've attached a screen capture to show what it does.
When I click on the + sign it adds the category complete with the + sign. If I click on the + sign in the Extract all links in category box it only opens the selection box again. I just haven't found a way past it to access the sub categories to poulate them.
    Thanks in advance

    Pete...

Have you tried this in multiple browsers? Does the problem exist in all browsers?

Hi Have tried with IE and Mozilla Firefox with all updates but have the same problem with both. If it is working for you, just wait for a week or so and I will be updating my laptop ( the old one is 10 months old/ outdated?) and I will download the fresh site from the server and see if the problem still exists. Just thinking if the plugin works for you it might be ?? something I have done in the past and not realised. Take it east till then and we will see if it is my end.
    Cheers

    Smile same issue

Back again, Hope your christmas was enjoyable.
I've updated to a new laptop with Windows 7 and using the latest IE and downloaded the complete site to Dreamweaver to edit files.
I am still having that problem that the list of categories will not expand using the google extractor plugin. I am still using Current version: 1.4 and it's been so long since I updated it I have forgotten how to and don't really have time to go and work it out again so I might take you (FSGDAG) up on doing the updates for me. You have tried to help me with this so you get the job if you want it. Just work out a price and we will sort it out.
    Cheers
    Pete
