    Default My first Indexu

As usual I am never satisfied without tweaking themes. I still have some loose ends to complete. Had a real problem with getting it to work in IE 6.

    Quality Blog Index

Anyone see issues with IE or... let me know please.

Nice one Harkster - Love the juice graphics and the top search box.
Little bug - I'm running IE on Vista and the footer bar is diplayed in the middle over the category and left menu and the google ads is panel is half on half off.

That damn IE causes me so many headaches. And to top it off various versions render differently. I tested FF, Chrome, Opera and IE 6. Can you do a screen shot? I may have to resort to wrapping it in a table.

Am at work now on a mac but when I get home tonight I'll do a screen grab.
Agree with you on the browser issue - why the hell do they display things so differently?!!

    Because developers suck.

Browsers MUST be built to use and display (render) HTML exactly as the w3 specifications require. However IE was the first to decide that it was going to do things the way it wants and it's been that way ever since. If I remember correctly, IE8 (or was it 7?) is supposed to start using standards more often.

    But it's too late.

Opera has been using standards since 3.5 (way back in 1995). Firefox can use standards (in strict mode I think it's called) and Mac just sucks so who really cares (yay I got to annoy Mac users today!).

No, seriously on the Mac side it's the same thing. Browsers just don't use standards unless you force them to or use IE8 (or 7?).

But the worst piece of crap is IE6. Oh my god it's horrible. No standards and it can't even handle transparent PNG's. I mean what the hell were they thinking? Stupid if you ask me.

The directory is very nice, compliment!

I have seen that some links have a black o a red frame. Why?

The red frame is an example of how a sponsor listing is displayed and the black frame is featured/premium.

    Well said Bruce.

Man, that is indeed strange. Especially since the footer sits in front of the block but behind the G Adsense. Wonder if it is a div nesting thing as I am quite sure everything is closed properly. Been a long day and brain cells tired but I thought there was a clear both being done but I don't see it right now.

I finally decided that tinkering with facing wasn't working so changed the template to portal_dir. Much nicer to work with.

I had a similar problem with Facing. Its really a cool template, and my HTML skills aren't that bad, but its much harder to make customizations to Facing then the other templates available.

I have worked with Drupal, WP, PhpWeby and nearly every package I have used but found that one the hardest to deal with.

I added /blog on your submission and approved just a few ago. If I may ask - how did you create the blog? A plugin?

    P.S.
I gave consideration to canning the facing css and rebuilding as it seems to have maybe been converted at least a couple times from whatever.
