v4 was announced by dody in May of 2003 almost 20 months ago. see http://www.nicecoder.com/community/s...ead.php?t=1253.
Last fall he came out with a "preview" of v4 (see http://www.nicecoder.com/community/s...0717#post10717). As it turned out this preview was still the same old v3.1 code with a mod_rewrite feature, cached dynamic pages and improved handling of categories added.
He then released v3.2 to fixed a multitude of bugs (see http://www.nicecoder.com/community/s...ead.php?t=2072). v3.2 also had some new features ( see http://www.nicecoder.com/community/s...ead.php?t=2319 ). But guess what. v3.2 looks pretty much like the v4 preview. see http://www.nicecoder.com/community/s...87&postcount=5
I said all of that to get to this point: who knows when it will be released. dody did respond one time by saying (and I paraphrase) "why put this stress on me". Unfortunately, this is at least the second time this has happened so dody's credibility is, at best, ZERO when it comes to statements about a possible release date.
I will say this: according to dody, v4 is a complete rewrite. If so, it should be properly and thoroughly tested. There should be an alpha release followed by a beta release. Each should be tested. That should be a minimum of 2 months. Will that occur? I have no idea.
But testing will occur. It will occur in the alpha or beta releases or it will occur after the final release followed by updates, patches or bug fixes.
and we don't have a clue as to what the new features will be or whether or not we will like them...

ESM, I am not quite sure what the above has to do with my original question ???
I just wanted to look at some websites using your enhanced version to get an idea of what I can achieve.

I merely download the files from that folder and zip them up for distribution. I make one change: to the application.php file to remove by database information.
the distribution file that you download when you purchase v3.2E is exactly that site. That way I know that what I am giving a customer is a working program. All they have to do is edit the application.php file and add their database information.
During the installation, there are some updates to the database but those are tested also by updating another INDEXU database. Therefore, I know they work.
If you purchase v3.2E, I can ultimately make it work on your server if it meets the requirements for INDEXU or refund you money. (for those with less computer experience, I may need access to the server)
Anyway, if someone gives me permission to share their site, I will gladly do so.
Maybe you could be the first to publically share your site.
Note: I have included a mini-debugger with v3.2E so I may not need access to the server. Also, I am almost finished with a "download" center which will allow your download the latest changes to v3.2E.

You use v3.2?
If so there is three ways to go.
1. Go with with the patch dody gave me yesterday (urls with hyphen and fix on "order tool", my site: www.eurofind.biz)
2. Wait for v4 probably out first quarter this year or closer tothe summer
3. Buy 3.2E from esm and get a bugfree product (I think), but consider that v4 if it comes will probably not consider your patches.
I would consider to go with SE friendly URLs on your site, even though they are indexed fine today. You should probably wait closer to PR update so yu dont loose much sales for those interested in that.
One thing that is great about the way URLs are sorted with the latest patch is that you dont loose PR inside your site with the level penalty(http://www.eurofind.biz/browse-corpo...ity-368-1.html not /Advertising-and-Marketing/Corporate-Branding-and-identity/).

I would also be very curious if the first one works with the pagination pages. I tried and tried and could never get it to work.

Buying your package means you got support, so that seems like maybe the best option.
But upgrading 3.2 the way I run it isnt all that bad really. I am very happy with it. Just want to get rid of "browse" in url, maybe.
What is pagination again?

I have decided that I will use my Yorkshire Directory as "open" test website for trialing 3.2 and 3.2E. It's not worth anything in monetary value and as it was previously dead from the neck up, let's see how far we can take Indexu.
I am currently uploading 3.2.
I will then in a seperate directory upload 3.2 again, then 3.2E and connect to the same database.
Should add the site will publically visable.
