Previusly, we have added a feature hook place to views all of hook php and html that is installed on indexu system. Now, that feature has been updated with added tool to saved hook html in database.

The hook html what saved on database aim to make easy user add appearance plugin on hook html.

We just made a plugin that used this tool, but this plugin is not available on free. The plugin is wordress’s archives.

by this tool, user could add more than one hook place for an appearance by clicked Add New Hook links. By that configurations, the front page will appears like below.

The Categories and Archives were loaded from wordpress’s database. The Categories put on hook_html_sidebar1_begin, and The archives put on hook_html_sidebare1_block_hot_listing. User could modify the place of appearance plugin to other hooks by that tools.

Just as we promised, iDesk version 1.6.4 has plenty of additional new features compared to its predecessor like download categories with comments and ratings, quick search box at the front page to make an easier search into knowledgebase and download section, also a useful collective ticket preview box on the ticket browse page that shows not only the latest ticket reply post but also the previous posts as well.
This new iDesk version also has an improved security system compared to the previous version. Introducing the implementation of captcha image verification and better banned email detection will definitely improve the defense against ticket spammer.
The iDesk improvement also includes significant bug fixes which increases its performance and stability compared to the previous version.
Also with the help and contribution from our customers, iDesk is now available in English, Polish and German language.

There are new features on indexu deluxe 1.2, one of them is Custom field support Rich Text Editor. This feature is we used TinyMCE that collaborated with indexu. By this feature probably answer many suggestion about BB code WYSIWYG support what posted on indexu’s project.

You must logined as admin to use it. If you want to add a new field RTE on custom field, you should select RICHEDITOR option at type field on Add New Field form.

That will be displayed on add listing form and update listing like below

The first image is a screenshot of the main screen, where backups are added/removed and started.

The next image is a screenshot of the configuration page. This page is where you set what type of backup you want, where it will be saved, and the schedule it will be run on.

Nicebackup will mean an end to the issue of users not having a simple way to backup their cPanelâ„¢ based websites and databases.

Not only will this be useful for users, but it will be useful for hosts as well. We plan on selling branded versions of NiceBackup to hosts where the “About” page will list the hosts name and URL instead of Nicecoders.

This gives hosts the ability to advertise their own name and give something to their users that every can use.

There should be no excuse for not having a backup, and with NiceBackup there is none.

October was a month of numerous changes and a lot of development. Some of the products we are working on did not see a release in October so November will be one very busy month. I hope you had a great Halloween and we’ll see you soon!

IndexU
The release of IndexU Deluxe v1.2 was delayed due to two factors. The first is the addition of more hooks for our new plugin system. This was a user requested feature and are more than happy to add these hooks so users can build on IndexU. The second issue was a bug with the sitemap which has been resolved.

IndexU 1.2 will feature many new tools as well. One of the biggest changes is in the user administration area. We have added new functions for admins to view inactive and suspended members and also the ability for users to resend their lost activation e-mail.

We have also added two new payment modules to IndexU which are Alertpay and Moneybookers.

iDesk 1.6.4 Released
iDesk version 1.6.4 was released in late October with numerous improvements. The following is a list of changes.
- The addition of translations (english, german and polish come pre-installed)
- Categories for the downloads sections (requested)
- Collective ticket previews (a really neat new feature!)
- Download comments and ratings
- Implement captcha on new tickets and on comments for downloads
- A quick search box
- Numerous small bug fixes

Nicemember
No updates were available for Nicemember in October, however Nicemember 1.1 was released on November 7. While this news should be in next months newsletter I figured I would include it here because of the major changes that have been included. New features in v1.1 are

NiceBackup
As many of you are aware I spoke about a program we had in development called NiceBackup. It is a windows utility used to backup cPanel (TM) accounts. I’ve recently had the pleasure of beta testing version 0.9b. Everything seems to be working very well.

As you can tell by the version number (0.9b) it is almost ready for release!

Details have not been worked out exactly, but at this time we plan on having two version of NiceBackup. One version is absolutely free, but does not have the ability to have backups run on a schedule (manual backups only). The paid version would include the scheduling feature. Pricing for the paid version will be under $20.

Do you have translation issues with IndexU Deluxe?

You’re not alone. But the solution is very easy. Here’s what you MUST have. No this list is not a suggested list, it is a required list. And if you’re missing one part of it then your translation will not work properly.

1. You must have php compiled with gettext
2. You must have indexu set to use UTF-8
3. You must have your database set to use UTF-8
4. You must have the translated file (included with IndexU)

There have been a number of users lately that have not had PHP compiled with gettext and they have argued the fact that this is an IndexU issue.

This is not an IndexU issue. This is a server issue. When you install IndexU it comes set up to use UTF-8 and has a number of translation files. IndexU has done it’s job once you install it.

Now the server itself has to do it’s job. We have no control over which server you use, but it must meet the above requirements for translations to function. You cannot avoid it, you cannot get around it, you cannot get away with it.

We’re not trying to give you the runaround, gettext is required. Speak to your host about compiling php with gettext. If you are on an unmanaged server then you’ll need to hire someone to compile PHP for you.

But yes, you still need to have gettext.
